Buying a domain name
Having a website is one thing but before you can have a website you need a domain name to get the domain a website to work they need to be hosted with a hosting provider.
When it comes to buying a domain name you can register a brand new domain made up with a collection of words that may represent your company or you could think of unique keywords that your customers my search for in the search engines this option in buying a domain is very straight forward and you will not need to negotiate price for the domain with any one as it will be a brand new domain that has not been registered before and you will become the owner as soon as you register it with the domain name registration company, normally the domain will cost around £10 to 15 pounds for a year this will depend on the TLD (top level domain) and the registrar,
The registrar is the domain registration company like 123-reg, 1and1, Godaddy etc.
The other option is to buy a domain name that has already been registered. If the domain you are looking for has already been taken or registered you could well approach the registered person or company to find out if the domain is for sale?
It could well be the domain is already sitting on holding page stating the domain is for sale or open to offers
What ever the case may be you still need to negotiate a price with the registered owner to get your hands on the domain.
You could negotiate a few hundred pounds or you could well be paying thousands or even millions this all depends on how unique the domain is and how potential customers will find you. i.e. if you was a fabric merchant the best domain to suit your business would be fabric related domain this way potential customers would type a fabric related search term into search engines the chances of your domain ranking high in the search results would be very good, but not guaranteed to come up number one.
